Small NodeJS stuff runs on the same droplet, while more extensive stuff needs a dedicated one, so it doesn't compete for resources. I do NodeJS almost exclusively, and you can easily manage Node apps with PM2, etc.

I mean, it's not really advisable to run some mission critical stuff on the same droplet as everything else. If shit hits the fan, you better have hourly backups at hand.

I tried Drift and GoSquared, but ultimately I have decided to use neither, because the user need wasn't there. In the end of the day, you need to prove that there is a viable reason to deploy something as extensive as live chat.

Good consideration, Matthew. Thanks a lot for sharing! 🙏🏻

IconJar has some free sets available on their website, check out the FREE section towards the bottom of the page: geticonjar.com/featured-icons/

How, as in what do I take into account when selecting one? Here are some of the criteria I follow (order is random):
• impact on performance
• ease of use for my audience
• ease of integration
• level of integration
• benefits to me and my project
• cost to me (ROI)

Thanks Matthew! And yes, I meant what you do think when you want to select one. Have you ever selected something for your own project? If yes, which one and why?

I generally use UpWave, which is a much more focused version of Trello, just amplified. Other than this, Dropbox Paper is my friend for docs, but I grow tired of their formatting tool, as I prefer straight up Markdown. Might switch to something else.
